We are a 501(c)3 educational nonprofit formed in 2020 from a deep commitment to promote the academic success of underserved communities throughout the Mississippi Delta.

The unique stressors caused by COVID-19 exacerbated a multitude of inequities that existed within the education system in the Mississippi Delta. From an inability to deliver free lunch to students in need to the enormous gap in access to technology for students who were forced to learn virtually to the considerable risk many students faced of dropping out in search of a reliable income, it was clear to the founders of MDEEP that more needed to be done to ensure student success throughout the region. Many students in the Mississippi Delta simply lack the resources necessary to succeed. MDEEP strives to find creative, practical solutions to complex, systemic issues. Our footprint may be small, but we continue to work every day in promotion of the success of the student population.
